How to Secure Low-Priced Antiques

Hello my friends,

So you like antiques, well you’re not alone. Antique savaging is a well thought-out adventure. You can find that journeying throughout the states searching for a hidden treasure may be more enjoyable than you first thought.

There are endless possibilities. For instance garage sales, estate sales and flea lands. There is overlooked priceless merchandise to be had. In the hills of Kentucky we see many treasures in old barns; old horse-drawn plows, harnesses, cars, tractors and many more.

Other antiques can be found in old homes i.e. in the attic and garage. We have discovered such things as old recipes handed down through-out the ages from mothers to daughters. We have found old wooden canes as well as travel trunks. Quilts and quilting pieces can be found around the states as well.

These can easily be picked up next to nothing or for nothing. You can turn a profit just as easy by finding collectors via the Internet. There are antique dealers in the larger cities willing to pay handsomely for your newly acquired merchandise.

World-wide antique savaging is a goal worthy of your time. Imagine the types of treasure you can discover and create a immeasurable amount of unburied merchandise.

You can travel to such places as England, Ireland and Scotland. The possibilities are endless. Take sometime and plan ahead. Read anything and everything you can about these places. You can visit them via the Internet.

Research is the key that will unlock the doors.

Until we speak again…

Bathroom Remodeling Trends

The days of depending on a luxury resort or hotel for pampering are being replaced. Homeowners are trading this occasional extravagance for permanent innovations in their very own homes. Currently, creating sanctuaries are the new bathroom remodeling trends. Consumers can now enjoy opulence in the privacy of their own homes.

There is no question that kitchens and baths sell homes. Consumers place significant value on large open kitchens and bathrooms with modern conveniences and high-end fixtures. Currently, however, a new trend in bathrooms has been occurring which focuses on the latest and greatest technology in bathroom conveniences.

Previously marketed multiple-head showers have now evolved into elaborate multi-functioning appliances. One of the hottest trends is the steam shower which offers reclining seats, remote controlled massage, electronic temperature and steam generator, and surround sound. This trend is especially important in remodeling because it immediately updates an older bathroom, and additionally provides the homeowner with the convenience of a spa along with the privacy of home.

For added pizzazz, there is another new innovation known as the tanning shower. This product allows the consumer to incorporate a tanning unit into an existing or new shower. The unit comes complete with lamps, reflectors, and a double UV filter for optimum tanning. Also included is a high-intensity infrared light marketed to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, aiding in skincare.

Just thinking about a warm towel after a steam shower is enough to entice any consumer thinking about remodeling. Towel warming units currently on the market contain warming drawers with timer settings and temperature controls that can be conveniently personalized. Modern toilets complete with bidets are another feature many are including in their renovations. Intelligent toilets include the bidet, but also add the feature of remote controlled temperature settings for both the water flow and the seat. For men, the toilet lid can be remotely controlled and lowers itself after use. A sensor allows the toilet to flush and determine when a user is finished before lowering the lid. Germ elimination is no longer a concern for those incorporating this toilet.

Digital navigation systems bring all these features together allowing the consumer to customize their personal settings. Some systems even include brilliantly colored light shows in order to enhance mood. With one touch a homeowner can now set the temperature in the shower, choose a preferred water flow, enjoy their musical preferences, and enjoy a light show all at the same time. The only rule for this new trend in remodeling is “the bigger, the better.”

Free With eCards

Do you still send traditional cards through snail mail? Do you always get a response and know for sure that they’ve received your card?

Traditional cards for events such as birthdays or other holidays are still nice to receive, but in today’s modern world, more people are turning to eCards. eCards are instant, fast, and free. Have you ever sent someone a birthday card or holiday card in the mail, and then found out that they received it the day after, or even later?

The snail mail system can be so unpredictable sometimes. How much time would you guess you spend driving to the store, to stand in the card aisle looking for the perfect card, standing in line, and driving back home, to then drive to the post office to mail it and back home again?

Then it takes the mail system days to get the card to where you want it to go.

The intentions are good, but at the same time, we live in a “microwave” society where we want things done fast and in a hurry. So even though the thought is nice, what is the total investment to take this approach when you think about the time, gas, and money spent?

Next time you want to send someone a nice and custom greeting for a special day of any occasion, try sending communicating your love and support for them with eCards.

With an eCard, you can spend just a few minutes finding the perfect card that says what you want it to say, add your own message, and deliver it to the person you want to reach instantly. You don’t even have to leave your house, and what makes it even better is that it is FREE!

You can do it on the spot at anytime by downloading a free toolbar that allows you to send free eCards whenever you want. The designs that you can select are phenomenal, and you aren’t just limited to what the store has “in stock.” You don’t have to go from store to store searching for the right card with eCards.

There is an unlimited supply of “stock” with eCards, no matter what the occasion is. So download the toolbar now, so that the next time you want to send someone a greeting for any special occasion, you can see just how great the concept of eCards really is!

Dominion Intrigue Review

Stats:

No. of players: 2-4 (2-6 if you have the Dominion Base Set)

Amount of time to play: 30 minutes

Age requirements: 10+

Set-up time: 5-10 min

Description:

Dominion Intrigue expands Dominion adding new cards and more possible supply combination’s. This review will show some of the differences between the two games and highlight some of the new things introduced via Dominion Intrigue

Dominion Intrigue’s game play is the same as Dominion’s and it is still easy to learn and teach. The new Intrigue cards offer more options on each individual card. They say choose an option, then they list the different things the card can do. Some cards let you gain a card and based on the type of card you take from the supply, you add either: a buy, a card or a treasure. The increased decision points may slow the game down, but usually not by much.

The other major difference is action-victory and treasure-victory cards. These combo-cards perform double duty. Not only do you earn victory points but they are also action cards. They don’t clog up your deck as they can serve two purposes. This is a nice change and allows you to buy these victory points anytime.

Some people complain about the almost solitaire nature of Dominion and I think that dynamic is being challenged in Intrigue. Many of the cards are geared toward more interaction, but I feel it is only moderately successful.

A Quick Review:

I have been playing Dominion and Dominion: Intrigue a ton. The easy game play and quick playtime have this on my table more than any other game recently. Being able to expand the game to up to six players with Intrigue is awesome. Increased options for the Supply configurations are great and add to Dominion’s already awesome replayability. Honestly if you like the base game I cannot think of any reason you won’t like Dominion: Intrigue.

Back To Basics For Boomers

77.3 Million Baby Boomers must reinvent themselves in the last third of their lives. Ages 45-65 are watching the generation time clock keep on ticking.

Boomers are dissecting their financial fears, job frustrations, retirement options and lifestyle changes. There will soon be a new wave of retires wondering what their going to do when they grow up. Many boomers are seriously wondering what’s in stored for them in their ” Golden Years”. Their nest eggs have severely dwindled along with their 401k retirement plan, being hit by the stock market, skyrocketing health care costs, as well as their concerns of the higher prices for consumer goods, and commodities, that continue to effect the economy.

In the past 5 years, 40 percent of Boomer households have had someone lose a job and finding it harder and harder to find a new job that paid the salary that they were accustomed to making. And some find their skills are out dated and rusty compared with a 20-30 year old applying for the same job.

Nearly one in six households have a home whose market value is below it’s mortgage balance and they can’t sell their homes; nor do they want to. Nearly one in six boomers had a stay in the hospital. The financial woes have also lead to mental anguish and stress. The thought of bankruptcy for boomers was never a concern, now it’s more like a blessing.

Baby boomers were once considered to be born in the “Wealthiest Generation” They made more money than any other generation so far in U.S. history. They were the first generation where the two income household was unfortunately a necessary. Boomers had a higher level of education which aloud them to capitalize on economic changes and technology. They were goal oriented, dedicated and career focused.

Boomers lived through the greatest and longest period of economic prosperity, however now so many affluent baby boomers are now financially unprepared and feel trapped in a sea of economic uncertainty. They are now doing less with less money mostly out of fear of the worsening economy. They’re postponing retirement, contributing less to the church and charities, they’re passing on their yearly vacation, and basically downsizing their lifestyle.
