Caring for Antique Glassware
The caring of the antique glassware is an important task for the one who deals with these things. Despite of the thickness of the material, they are obvious to become weak as time passes by. So you can keep the delicacy of your glassware by cleaning and dusting it on regular basis. The first thing that you need to do is to wash the delicate glass which needs a small amount of mild detergent. However you should not apply strong detergents like bleach or anything that is rough. This is because the rough detergent can cause scratches to the delicate glasses. There are few things that are advised to keep handy while you are cleaning the delicate glassware. It is necessary to keep two plastic basins, warm water, a soft cloth and sponge. The first step is to collect all the antique pieces and keep them in the basins. Secondly, you must check carefully at the sensitive areas and cracks. A thin sheet of glass or any uneven areas need more care as because they can easily break if too much of force is applied to them.
While cleaning the glassware you should be cautious as because it can easily break. Initially you need to fill up the basin with soap and tepid water. A little bit of dish liquid is needed to be put in the basin and then you can add warm water to it. You need to keep the other basin ready with warm and clean water. You need this warm and clean water to dip the glassware after it is being washed by soap.
You should clean one glass item at a time so that you can do it carefully. Then you need to wipe the exterior portion cautiously with a soft rag or sponge. If there are filled with too much of residues, then you need to keep them in the soap water for a long time.
